IFM ELECTRONIC will present in MATELEC INDUSTRY a compact flight time sensor for industrial applications 4.0

For the first time, the company IFM ELECTRONIC integrated its photoelectric sensors PMD (measurement of flight time on the chip) in a compact M18 design, developing a sensor perfectly suited for industry 4.0.

The PMD OGD Cube accurately measures the distance to the object through laser light and the flight time of the technology. Depending on the version, the range is 300 or 500 mm for the OGD Precision and 1,500 mm for the OGD Long Range. Thanks to the small diameter of the point of light, the sensor can not only be used to detect large objects, but is also suitable for fail-safe applications, especially in the automation of assemblies. It offers enough precision and resolution to check, for example, the depth of the holes or the installation of very small pieces before the piece goes to the next step of the process (quality controls online).

The sensor has an IO-Link interface that not only transmits the measured value, but also allows remote adjustment of all parameters. The sensor cam can be individually adapted to different work pieces or manufacturing situations. It adapts perfectly to Industry 4.0. This makes the OGD PMD Cube an extremely compact and easy-to-use problem solver for various applications.
